What's left of the second Cape Scott Dyke, which is a real tale of heartbreak. The first Cape Scott Dyke, built in 1899, was destroyed by a hurricane on the day of its completion. A second dyke was built in 1900-01, but wasn't enough to save the colony, which, to put it mildly, had other problems.   (11/30)
